Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which means ‘science of life’ and is basically a category of Indian traditional medicine. Ayurveda changes the way you see your body and the way you eat and it realizes the human body as an energy system that is changing constantly. The Vedas contain scientific and practical information about various subjects that are beneficial to the humans like health, engineering, astrology and philosophy. Through Ayurveda, people find a body rhythm of their own and find lasting solutions for their health related problems. Natural Ayurveda is extremely helpful in stopping the process of aging and the therapy of periodic rejuvenation keeps health, zest and beauty intact for several years. Mental health is given equal importance in the field of Ayurveda and adherence to the moral values is a pre-requisite for a sound mental health. The overall aim of this branch of medicine is promotion of health, increase in immunity and curing of diseases.
Ayurveda has proved to be useful in several types of treatment programs as it is a curative as well as preventive therapy. Natural Ayurveda strengthens the immunity of a person against diseases and that is why it is important to change the radical lifestyle of a person. It has been believed that changing the lifestyle can improve several persistent problems such as arthritis, back pain, high blood pressure, tension headaches, anxiety, depression, insomnia, constipation, obesity and stress disorders. The field of Ayurveda focuses on the lifestyle changes and the herbal and home remedies suggested by this field of medicine concentrate largely upon diet, yoga, exercise, meditation, steam baths, herbal tonics, massage, enemas and alternative medical therapies like aromatherapy.
The science of Ayurveda suggests several home remedies to improve the lifestyle of a person which means that the treatment through Ayurveda is affordable as well as the treatment ingredients can be extracted out of one’s kitchen itself. All diseases including acne, diarrhea, dysentery, flatulence, mumps, respiratory problems and whooping cough can be treated effectively through the use of Ayurvedic medicines by using kitchen stuff only. For example, neem and cucumber are very effective in treating acne. Diseases of almost all internal organs can be rationally treated through Ayurveda.
Through Ayurveda, we will be able to lead a disciplined and disease free life and the best part is that we will not need to carry the burden of side effects that most of the other forms of medicines bring with themselves.
